The case of a Hunter from Northern Saskatchewan, charged 8 km into Alberta, while travelling.  The Janviers originally moved to Methye Portage, an important Fur Trade route in the late 1800’s.  The route this hunter was travelling was the route historically travelled by this family as proven in the 1901 and 1906 Census.  This decision confirms that the Metis homeland spans the provinces, and Provincial boundaries do not apply to harvesting.
